SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

Ocean Harvest’s products are produced in our Vietnam facility utilising various seaweed species sourced from a network of harvesters across the world. All Ocean Harvest’s products are all produced to GMP+ standards as outlined by our certifying body Control Union.

Agreements with each harvester are outlined in our ‘Harvester Supplier Agreement’ Protocol, which ensures supply quality and continuous sustainable harvesting methods as outlined in our Sustainable Harvesting Plan.

PRODUCT QUALITY ASSURANCE

Our approach to feed safety includes the internationally recognized HACCP principles and adheres to the standards and requirements for feed safety assurance under the GMP+B2 scope. Ocean Harvest monitors the quality of its products using detailed work agreements and frequent site visits to each of its suppliers.

The risks (if any) associated with each harvester are assessed and documented. This determines the frequency of site visits/monitoring required for each supplier. Each harvesting site is visited on a regular basis with records of these visits documented in our in-house checklists and harvesting site visit reports. According to our Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) there is 100% testing for key quality parameters on incoming products to ensure feed safety.

RESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURING

Ocean Harvest Technology acknowledge and support a Code of Conduct, based on the SA 8000 standard from Social Accountability International (SAI) and seek to conform to its standards and provisions as emphasized on the code of conduct. Areas covered are as follows: Child Labour, Freely Chosen Employment, Health and Safety, Freedom of Association, Discrimination, Harsh or Inhumane Treatment, Working Hours and Minimum Wages.
